iPhone Fold Rumored to Pack Apple’s Largest Smartphone Battery Yet

Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone, widely referred to as the iPhone Fold, is expected to arrive next year, although some reports still point to a 2027 launch. A new leak now offers fresh insight into one of its key hardware details, the battery size.

The iPhone Fold will reportedly include a battery that is larger than the one found in the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Apple’s current flagship carries a 4,823mAh battery, while its eSIM-only version uses a slightly bigger 5,088mAh cell.

According to the latest report, Apple is testing the foldable with a battery capacity ranging between 5,400mAh and 5,800mAh.

The leak also notes that early prototypes of the iPhone Air were initially tested with a 3,000mAh battery before Apple managed to fit a larger unit in the final version.

A similar adjustment may happen with the iPhone Fold, raising the possibility of a battery that could reach close to 6,000mAh.

The device is rumored to feature a 7.58-inch inner display and a 5.38-inch outer display. With two screens to power, Apple may need a significantly larger battery to support the foldable’s higher energy demands.
