Punjab Announces Major Rs. 30 Billion Signal-Free Corridor

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced that the government is initiating a major 25-kilometer signal-free corridor project stretching from Islamabad Expressway to Peshawar Road. She said the corridor will include nine underpasses and three flyovers and is expected to cost around Rs. 30 billion.

Maryam Nawaz stated that work on the project will start now and will be completed by April next year, reaffirming her commitment to meeting the announced deadline.

The chief minister said Rawalpindi has witnessed more development in the past year and a half than at any previous time. She credited the pace of progress to the leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League-N, adding that significant infrastructure improvements have taken place under the current government.

She said national development accelerates when the PML-N and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif are in power and declines when their government is not in office.

According to Maryam Nawaz, the upcoming signal-free corridor will significantly improve traffic flow between the twin cities and support ongoing infrastructure upgrades across Rawalpindi.

  • This is why this country can never succeed. All public funds are wasted on roads and more roads increasing tax burden.

We need hospitals and govt jobs not now roads where contracts are given to minister construction companies.
