Karachi Traffic Police has issued a new warning for drivers and passengers, tightening enforcement of seat belt rules across the city.
Speaking to a private news channel, the DSP Traffic said action will now be taken not only against drivers but also against front-seat passengers who fail to wear seat belts.
He added that authorities will now collect any previously waived fine if a driver commits a second traffic violation. The official stressed that repeated offenders will no longer receive leniency under the updated enforcement approach.
He further said that the department does not have access to registration records for vehicles from other provinces. He noted that complaints about vehicles using fake number plates have also increased, prompting closer monitoring.
