Exclusive: Here’s the Expected Price of MG Binguo EV in Pakistan

The MG Binguo EV, recently showcased at the Pakistan Auto Show, has generated strong buzz among car enthusiasts as the company prepares to expand its electric vehicle lineup.

The compact EV drew attention for its design, features, and the possibility of becoming one of the more affordable long-range electric options in the country.

The Binguo EV comes with a 31.9 kWh Lithium Ferro-Phosphate battery and produces 67 horsepower with 150 Nm of torque. MG claims a WLTP driving range of 273 kilometers.

The EV supports DC fast charging from 30 to 80 percent in 35 minutes, while AC charging from 20 to 100 percent takes about 5.5 hours. The car features 15-inch steel wheels with 185/60 R15 tires.

Inside, it offers a caramel-latte interior, keyless entry, push start, auto hold, and a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel. A 10.25-inch LCD display with four speakers supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensors, and a rear camera. Exterior equipment includes LED headlights, DRLs, and cruise control. The EV is expected to be available in black and white.

Expected Price

A source told ProPakistani that MG is currently evaluating a price of Rs. 6 million to Rs. 6.4 million for the Binguo EV. The launch and booking dates, the source added, have not been confirmed, as MG is prioritizing its MG U9 pickup truck.

  • And I stand corrected. I stated last time that the car will be expensive and it won’t be enough of a desire for anyone to buy it.

    6 million for a compact car is definitely not worth it. Not to mention the maintainemce expense on evs is higher then petrol cars sadly. So either dealer comes or you can’t get regular maintenance done.
    Otherwise you’ll have to buy the warranty which locks you with the dealer for a long time and is expensive as well.

    • what maintenance expenses? EV vehicles from good brands like BYD , MG donot require any regular maintenance

      • Who told you that ? Kindly first check up ev maintenance costs before coming here.

        Evs require less maintenance but the costs are higher thanks to govt taxes and policies plus warranty that you buy with the car ties you with the dealer.

          • Brakes , tires health, battery fluid check up, sensors, battery shell to check no breaches or exposure , internal functions if using Screen controls.

            I can name many more.

              • This guy has never owned EV, i am currently owning tesla for straight 3 years with no maintenance whatever done. Even charging is free cuz my apartment complex has free chargers. Tesla has 2 years/50k miles car warranty and 120kmiles/8years battery and drive train warranty. this angry guy is using google/chatgpt to get these answer LOL

      • We are all angry the moment we realize this is all by design.

        Usa Canada imposed 100% tariffs and we judged them for being jealous

        Pakistan imposed 200% despite sharing border.

  • This car only costs 8400$ in china. That’s 20 lakh in pakistan.

    Why is it costing 3 times that in pakistan when we share border with them ? 🤔

    • Sir, first of all don’t be angry as this will only hurt you 🙏
      I 100% agree with you but this subject can be discussed million times no result. In my opinion the reasons for high price are:
      A- The three giants controlling the auto business in Pakistan will never allow this as cheap electric cars will take a big chunk of their business.
      B- Yes in China it’s under US$10000 so adding freight and duty etc it should not cost over $15000/- with courtesy of groups promoting ang protecting environment.
      C- And finally why would our government be interested to provide a budget car to common man as they can not decide anything without permission of the three giants (King Makers)
      So just chill and relax, by the way no one asks them why car prices are much lower in India?

        But that isn’t true anymore. We are not like this at all. We want things to be affordable and being next to China makes it possible for us.

        So why is the govt charging 200 percent ?

        Also I didn’t ask the govt. I asked these journos this question. They are supposed to ask questions

  • The car costs 8400 $ now in china to buy. That’s 20 lakh in pakistan currency.

    60 to 64 lakh means the govt takes 40 lakh over the value of the car in taxes. That’s a 200 percent tariff on a small car.

    It’s not china fault for providing affordable car. It’s our own govt fault for placing 200 percent tariffs higher then Even usa or even Canada have placed on them.

    This shows the fault is of the govt and not china. They provided an affordable car to the people.

    • The government do not want any relief to be given to common people. An abundance of EV means a large dent to petroleum use and related taxes which are used to finance the debt servicing and exorbitant salaries of government personnel. Ironically that debt will also never be used for benefit of Pakistani people.

      • Actually it would mean alot of fuel would be saved for trucks and cargo. Creating massive revenue for the govt.

    • China is charging 13 lakh lower then that. Govt of pakistan is charging 40 lakh over the price.

  • It should not be priced more than 3 million PKR. Only then can it be said to be an affordable car for general public in our country and it will sell good at this price. More units sold, more earning for the makers and the government. More saving on petro dollars as well.

  • The car price should be in between 25 to 32 lacs. Bcoz when people have an option with alto & other Japanese car price then your ev is perfect choice..no body wants to waste his money in that car who’s resale is 0%

  • Why will I not buy an EV. No guarantee of battery life. The mileage of the batteries starts diminishing from the first month. Lack of recharging infrastructure. Even with the infrastructure, I have no desire to stand for 1 hour waiting for my vehicle to be charged. The life of the batteries should be the life of the vehicle, i.e.20 years in Pakistan. The replacement cost should be not more than 15% of total cost. If that’s criteria are not met, it is not worth it to buy.

    • LFP batteries will last a long time if liquid cooling is built in (6000 to 8000 cycles). Infrastructure is not there but many homes have solar so its perfect city car and easily go upto 200km between cities. Saving of almost 20,000 to 50,000 per month . ONLY ISSUE IS PRICE

      • only if you travel at night or has 50 kwh battery at home. otherwise solar has no benefit for those who need to travel in the morning and come back in the evening.

        • have yoi heard about net metering ? units exported during day are canceled 1 to 1 with units used at night which could be perfect time for charging

  • One has to replace the very very expansive EV battery every 2 years or 50 k, Km, for the most cheap dumped, expansive EV in Pakistan,costing 6.4 millions PKR.While the battery in Pakistan is not less than 2 million PKR,due to unfair govt lootings, for updating swizz unknown USD accounts.

  • The failure of EV penetration is caused by unreasonable pricing. Look at prices of same models in China. Honri failed and same will happen with this model

  • Very expensive. After 4 years the battery only costs 15 to 20 lacs. If it launches at price of 45 lacs then it will be a good deal

  • MG introduced the wrong car. MG should have brought in the MG Comet. It is the better, cheaper choice for a small city EV runabout. However, Very high tax and the wrong types of EVs introduced will keep EV penetration low in Pakistan. This is by design. Unfortunately, this will only add to the misinformation noise regarding battery life and maintenance costs.

  • A simple reality is that EV hatchbacks mainly attract taxi drivers and middle-class buyers. However, any price above 3 million for a hatchback EV will create the same negative impact we’ve already seen with existing EV models from Dewan and others. When high-end EVs and PHEVs are available in the 8–120 million range, people won’t prefer small vehicles with limited 130–200 km range especially when they have to wait at the few available charging stations, similar to the old CNG queues. Meanwhile, safer and more practical alternatives like the Hybrid Aqua, or economical options like the Alto and Mira, are already available at reasonable prices.

  • Maintenance cost is directly proportional to the misuse. A road vehicle may not last even a day on off-road use!. Likewise, a well kept on road vehicle may last millions of miles without any major fault!

  • At 6.4 million, it is much more costlier than the all times best Ice Car Corolla. With the savings in cost, Corolla can be be used and maintained at least for 2 years! That would lead to the time, when such preferences would sanitize the EV prices, or completely reject them to come back to the sanity of ICE cars.
