Free hot meal–dispensing machines have been installed on various streets of Dubai.
According to a foreign news agency, the Dubai Awqaf Foundation, which oversees the initiative, stated that these machines are part of the “Khobz Al-Sabeel” project launched in 2022.
Under this programme, needy individuals are provided free fresh bread through smart vending machines.
The foundation said the newly introduced hot meal machines feature a modern design with a digital screen for easy use. A cooling system has also been installed to maintain the freshness of the food.
A smart identification system has been introduced for users, allowing each person to receive one meal per day, ensuring fairness in distribution and enabling a larger number of deserving individuals to benefit from the service.
Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary General of Awqaf Dubai, said the machines have been installed near several mosques in the emirate, and more locations will be added as needed.
He added that the aim is to modernise and sustain the waqf system so that assistance reaches beneficiaries in a dignified and convenient manner.
