Scheduled to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from 7 February to 8 March 2026, the tournament will see 20 teams compete for cricket’s most prestigious T20 prize.
The first officially announced fixture is defending champions India taking on arch-rivals Pakistan on 15 February in Colombo, which is set to be one of the highlights of the tournament.
The co-hosting arrangement means that all Pakistan games will be played in either Colombo or Kandy. India’s potential Super Eight matches will be held at Ahmedabad, Chennai, and Kolkata, with their semi-final scheduled in Mumbai if they advance.
The ICC has also shortlisted Colombo or Kolkata as the venue for the second semi-final, depending on whether Sri Lanka and Pakistan qualify. The final is expected to take place in Ahmedabad, unless Pakistan reaches the final, in which case it is likely to be hosted in Colombo.
