Karachi’s e-challan system has logged more than 93,000 traffic violations since its launch, according to updated traffic police data. The Safe City cameras continue to monitor major intersections and automatically issue fines for detected offences.
The system recorded 57,541 violations for not wearing seat belts, making it the most common offence so far. Another 22,227 motorcyclists were fined for riding without helmets.
Speeding also remained a problem, with 1,188 violations detected through trackers installed on dumpers, trailers and water tankers, and 2,699 speeding cases involving other vehicles.
Cameras documented 3,102 red-light violations, while 1,278 vehicles were flagged for fancy number plates and 1,178 vehicles for tinted windows. The system also captured 611 stop-line violations and 426 wrong-way driving cases.
The fines collected reflect the scale of non-compliance. Seat belt violations alone generated Rs. 575,410,000, while helmet-related fines reached Rs. 111,135,000. Tinted-window violations led to Rs. 29,450,000 in penalties.
Traffic police say the enforcement drive will continue, and cameras will keep issuing automated challans to any vehicle caught violating the rules. Officials urged drivers to follow basic traffic laws to avoid further penalties.

Where will this huge money 💰 go?
Obviously in buying 400 AI signals which is much needed since 39 signals only work out of 89 signals.
Repairing of roads, haha.
Stomache of PPP leadership
Seat belt, helmet is an individual act who cares, Fine should be minimum. Focus should be on speeding, breaking signals, frequent lane change, driving bikes in the fast lane, tailgating, pressure horns, flashing their headlights (though you are going on speed limit). Driving on a high beams and bright led lights.

A giant city more than 24000000 people need somewhat strict rules and laws to implement discipline and avoid violence is best policy but keeping in view the poor public economic crisis and the condition of road infrastructure, at initial the penalties should have been started from 1000 instead 5000/, 2000 instead 10000, like wise 20000 should have been 5000, and on the other hand Cancellation of CNIC must finished instead should be called/ summoned by Magistrates for better legal punishment
