Commissioner Karachi Notifies Price of Fresh Milk

The Karachi administration has fixed the official retail price of fresh milk at Rs. 220 per liter, according to a notification issued by Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi on Thursday.

The order was issued under Section 7 of the Sindh Essential Commodities Price Control and Prevention of Profiteering and Hoarding Act, 2005.

The notification sets the dairy farm price at Rs. 200 per liter and the wholesale price at Rs. 208 per liter. These rates take immediate effect and will remain in place until further orders.

The commissioner directed that no individual or association may issue or announce milk prices that differ from the officially approved rates. He also prohibited the sale of milk in seer, requiring all sales to follow the per-liter standard.

The notice states that quality and hygiene must be ensured according to the prescribed SOPs. Authorities will display the notification at conspicuous locations to ensure public awareness and full enforcement across the city.
