The Supreme Court of Pakistan has announced the official schedule for its upcoming winter recess. According to a notification issued on November 22, 2025, the winter holidays will begin on Thursday, December 18, 2025, and the Court will reopen on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
The notification, issued under Rule 5 of Order II of the Supreme Court Rules 2025, states that while the Court itself will remain closed for routine matters, its offices will stay open except on public holidays.
Urgent matters, including court-directed dates, criminal cases and other time-sensitive proceedings, will be fixed before available benches as required.
The announcement was signed by Irshad Hussain, Senior Assistant Registrar (Admin), who forwarded copies of the notice to relevant government departments, high courts, attorney general offices, bar councils and judicial institutions across the country.
