The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested five individuals running a hacking operation out of an illegal call center in Karachi.
Additional Director Tariq Nawaz said the suspects were caught during a raid at a flat in DHA Phase 6, where they were allegedly involved in hacking bank accounts. Authorities recovered mobile phones, specialized hacking equipment, and other digital tools from the site.
The raid took place in the Big Bukhari area of Phase 6, which officials say was being used as the hub of an organized cybercrime network. According to Nawaz, the call center’s owner is currently outside the country.
Investigators revealed that the group targeted overseas victims, breaking into foreign bank accounts and diverting the stolen funds into multiple other accounts.
During the search, officials seized 11 computer CPUs, a laptop, 13 mobile phones, and several key documents. A case has been filed against the suspects, the NCCIA confirmed.
