HEC’s New Blockchain Degree Attestation System Will End Manual Verification Forever

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has finalized the project to revamp its degree attestation system by integrating blockchain technology, aiming to enhance efficiency and transparency while eliminating the need for applicants’ physical presence.

Procurement for system development has been completed, and the new system will be fully operational within the next six months.

The acting Chairman HEC, Mr. Nadeem Mahbub directed the concerned team to prioritise the task and ensure its earliest implementation. He was briefed that under the proposed system, applicants will no longer be required to provide physical documents or visit HEC offices for verification.

The 25 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that have fully implemented the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system will have their students’ information automatically integrated into the blockchain.

Graduates from these institutions will not need to submit any documents; their degrees will be added to the HEC blockchain upon graduation, enabling access to verified degrees directly through the Portal.

For students from HEIs without an ERP system, degrees and transcripts will be submitted online through the HEC portal and forwarded to the respective university’s dashboard. Once verified by the university, the documents will be integrated into the blockchain.

Degree verification will take place entirely online, with all records digitally secured to ensure instant, tamper-proof access. Once verified, degrees will be stored on HEC’s blockchain, enabling immediate authentication by government departments, the Foreign Office, embassies, and private organizations.

This transition will make the attestation process fully paperless, automated, and transparent, removing the need for manual stamping or physical documentation.

  • Is this a joke ? Blockchain in education ? 😆 🤣 😂 😹

This is the biggest fraud ever . Attaching the word “blockchain” is not going to make anything better.

Degrees verification is not rocket science

    • Honestly, it seems like you’ve never dealt with manual verification in Pakistan. Anyone who has gone through that process knows it’s harder than rocket science. Hours of waiting, unnecessary back-and-forth, and absolutely zero transparency…

That’s exactly why blockchain is such a game-changer. When implemented properly, it removes fraud, speeds up verification, and makes academic records tamper-proof. If our educational system adopts it the right way, it could genuinely become one of the best reforms we’ve seen in years…

People laugh at the idea now—just like they laughed at online banking, e-payments, and digital records in the beginning. But once the system starts working, everyone will realize how revolutionary it actually

  • its good step, one degree varified and integrated to block chain
    1. its permanently part of Blockchain
    2. you cant temper the information,
    3. no one go to past and make a fack degree

    • Who told you that ? Seriously. And who operates that ?
Who said you can’t tamper with it

      • LoL! These days “they” can get away with anything. But not for long though. 😉. The Rafael’s are preparing BIG TIME to teach “them” a lesson! LoL!

      • Basically if you are part of the Blockchain you can see if someone did something inside the Blockchain like let’s say I transferred 6 Bitcoin from my wallet to a friend’s wallet. The digital footprint stays and is traceable. This way of someone tries to tamper with the information, it’s easy to trace it down and can’t be bypassed making it foolproof since even a single change or activity done is traceable by all

      • No body owns it, blockchain is a pair or computers in the cloud, once a blockchain addresss and entered in the blockchain system, that address can’t be changed or delete, if somebody tries to change that address or edit it, entire network will reject that change, so that makes it blockchain system very powerful.

So in case of HEC degree attestion, each degree will get a blockchain address, that will be there, nobody can change or modify in any shape.

  • Currently, it is the worst system unnecessarily requiring multiple docs including marriage certificate which I experienced today. Plus, wasting entire day as have to wait for 3 to 4 hours after submission of docs.

  • I’m Awais student at comasts university Islamabad, vehari campus. We’ve been working on the same project for a year for our FYP.
