Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a strict zero-tolerance policy for bribery, misconduct, and abuse within the Punjab Enforcement and Regulator Authority (PERA) Force, directing that all field operations be recorded through bodycams.
Chairing a high-level meeting to review the force’s performance and monitoring system, the chief minister instructed that bodycam installation be completed at the earliest to ensure transparency and strengthen public trust.
She also approved the establishment of a dedicated PERA Training Centre and said specialised training sessions would begin soon.
Maryam Nawaz further announced the procurement of electric vehicles for the PERA Force as part of efforts to modernise its operations.
Addressing PERA personnel, she said law enforcement must be ensured “under any circumstance,” stressing that public interaction must remain polite, friendly, and dignified.
She acknowledged the force’s improved performance but urged officers to work with greater focus to deliver visible, positive results and build goodwill among citizens.
