Pakistan’s star Test batter Saud Shakeel has entered the top tier of Test cricket, securing a place inside the top 10 of the ICC Test Batters Rankings.
He now sits at No. 10, becoming the only Pakistani batter currently ranked among the top ten.
The latest ICC update features Joe Root leading the table with a rating of 898, followed by Kane Williamson and Steve Smith. Harry Brook has climbed to fourth, while Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis rounds out the top five. Other notable names in the top ten include Temba Bavuma, Travis Head, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Daryl Mitchell.

Shakeel’s current rating stands at 734. His consistent performances over the past year have helped him become Pakistan’s most highly ranked Test batter. He has played five Test matches this year, scoring two fifties in ten innings.
Recently, he led the Karachi Region Blues to victory in the 2025 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. In the six games he played, Saud Shakeel scored 329 runs, scoring one fifty and one hundred in the tournament with an average of 32.90.
