Navy’s 12-year-old swimming talent Batool Ali Asghar Poonawala won a bronze medal in the 200m Backstroke at the 35th National Games 2025.
She was the youngest swimmer in the race, competing against senior and international-level athletes, yet delivered a strong and confident performance.
Batool has already built an impressive record at national competitions. Earlier, she won two gold medals at the Junior Nationals in Islamabad.
At the Sindh Open Championship in Karachi, she added three gold, three silver, and one bronze, proving her consistency across different races.
She also won a bronze medal in the 100m freestyle at the Pakistan Boys & Girls National Age Group Swimming Championship, where she represented Pakistan Navy.
Most recently, at the 31st Palmolive Sindh Women’s Swimming Championship 2025, Batool was part of the Age Group 11–12 100m Medley Relay team that set a new championship record, adding another milestone to her growing career.
With each competition, Batool continues to establish herself as one of Pakistan’s most promising young swimmers and has established herself as one to look-out for, especially after her exploits in the 35th National Games.
