Authorities in Sindh have decided to expand electronic traffic enforcement to Hyderabad, following the successful rollout of the e-challan system in Karachi.
Officials made the announcement during a joint press conference held by the DIG Hyderabad and the Commissioner Hyderabad. They stated that the new system will be introduced across all three districts of the Hyderabad division, with the first phase targeting major roads in the city.
DIG Tariq Dharejo said authorities will install 72 surveillance cameras on important routes to automatically detect traffic violations. The initial deployment will monitor Autobahn Road, Jamshoro Road, Wadhu Wah Road, and areas of Qasimabad.
Officials also confirmed that three new traffic signals will be added at key intersections to improve traffic flow and strengthen overall road safety.
The launch forms part of Sindh’s broader effort to modernize traffic management and shift toward technology-based enforcement. Authorities believe the system will help reduce violations, improve compliance, and bring greater transparency to policing on Hyderabad’s busiest roads.
