The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially lifted the provisional suspension on batter Haider Ali, making him eligible to return to both domestic and international cricket. He is now set to feature in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) later this month.
Haider had been sidelined from all forms of competitive cricket after being accused of rape in Manchester earlier this year while touring with the Pakistan Shaheens. The PCB placed him under suspension until the investigation concluded.
The case was formally closed on September 25, when Manchester police announced that there was insufficient evidence to proceed, clearing Haider of all allegations.
Following his clearance, the PCB has granted Haider Ali an NOC for the BPL, where he will join several other Pakistani players, including Mohammad Nawaz, Abrar Ahmed, Sahibzada Farhan, Faheem Ashraf, Hussain Talat, Khawaja Nafay, and Ihsanullah.
Haider has previously represented Pakistan in 35 T20 Internationals and two ODIs. The young batter was signed by Noakhali Express during the BPL player auction. He will be joined by fellow Pakistani player and express pacer Ihsanullah.
