A tragic road accident occurred within the limits of Khanna Police Station, Islamabad, when two high-speed vehicles ran over a Capital Development Authority (CDA) sanitation worker.
According to eyewitnesses, the CDA employee died on the spot. They stated that both vehicles were racing each other at the time of the incident.
Police officials said that the vehicles went out of control due to overspeeding. One of the vehicles involved fled the scene after the accident, while the other was taken into police custody.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
This fatal incident follows a similar tragedy reported last week near the Pakistan National Council of Arts.
In that case, an SUV allegedly driven by the son of an Islamabad High Court judge hit two women riding a scooter.
The victims were part-time employees of an event management company and died instantly due to their injuries. Later, the victims’ families pardoned the teenage driver, which led to his release.
