Islamabad Announces Inaugration of Two Major Road Projects

Deputy Director General Environment at the Capital Development Authority, Irfan Azeem Khan Niazi, said the prime minister has placed strong emphasis on urban beautification and infrastructure upgrades to improve Islamabad’s livability.

Speaking to PTV News, he said the government plans to inaugurate two new flyovers at T-Chowk and Shaheen Chowk within the next few days, subject to the prime minister’s schedule. He said these projects aim to ease traffic congestion while improving the overall outlook of the capital.

Niazi said the Interior Minister has directed the CDA to focus not only on completing infrastructure projects on time but also on enhancing the surrounding green spaces. He said the authority has started planting flowering and allergy-friendly trees to improve environmental quality and reduce health concerns for residents.

He added that the Faizabad remodeling project has entered its final stages. He said the project includes road widening and loop extensions, which will significantly improve traffic movement in one of the city’s busiest areas.

Niazi also said the CDA continues beautification work at major interchanges across Islamabad. He said landscaping and greenery installations have already progressed at several locations to improve the city’s visual appeal.

  • Does the Islamabad beautification plan has any space for mosques?
On major road connecting i-11 to i-9/h-9 I could find only one mosque to offer Asr prayer.
