Pakistani Woman Makes History at World Karate Championship

Zainab Khan has created history by winning a gold medal at the 5th Kyokushin World Karate Championship in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, becoming the first Pakistani woman to win gold in full-contact karate.

Representing the Inam Kyokushin Karate Academy, Zainab Khan delivered a strong and confident performance against top international fighters to secure first place on the podium.

The championship featured 750 fighters from 40 countries, making her victory a major achievement on the global stage and a proud moment for Pakistan.

Pakistan sent an 18-member team to the World Karate Championship, which also produced other medal winners for the country.

Sanaullah Khan won a silver medal in the men’s senior 80kg category, while Saifullah Khan claimed a bronze medal in the 80kg-plus division.

All three medalists are members of the family of late Inamullah Khan, the founder of Pakistan Kyokushin Karate.

Zainab Khan’s gold medal has been widely praised as a landmark achievement for women’s sports in Pakistan, highlighting growing female participation and success in martial arts.
