Karachi Martial Artist Sets a New Guinness World Record

Pakistan has added another achievement to the Guinness Book of World Records as Karachi-based martial artist Wajahat Yar Khan set a new world record by completing 126 push-ups at a 180-degree angle in just one minute.

The new achievement breaks the previous record held by Britain’s Alex Golding and has been officially recognised by Guinness World Records.

In a statement, Wajahat Yar Khan said the record was the result of ten months of intense and disciplined training. He credited his success to consistent hard work and the strong support of his family, particularly his parents.

He said he suffered multiple injuries during training and while attempting the record but remained focused on achieving his goal.

Wajahat Yar Khan added that he is already preparing for another record attempt and aims to further raise Pakistan’s profile in international martial arts.

He also pointed out the lack of government support for martial artists, saying greater encouragement could help athletes achieve more success at the global level.

Despite these challenges, he said he remains committed to representing Pakistan internationally and continuing his journey of excellence.

Earlier, Saba Rashid became Pakistan’s first martial arts athlete to set a Guinness World Record in the nunchaku category.

Her record was confirmed by Guinness World Records after she successfully performed a figure-of-eight movement with nunchaku 138 times in one minute, surpassing the previous record of 120.
