The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has issued a schedule for winter vacations in both public and private educational institutions, setting different dates for areas based on their respective climates.
According to the provincial education secretary, schools in the summer zone will observe winter holidays from January 1 to 15.
In contrast, institutions located in the winter zones will remain closed for a longer period, from December 22, 2025, until February 28, 2026.
Across the country, authorities are implementing winter breaks to protect students and staff from severe weather conditions, as heavy fog and snowfall have affected many regions, especially hilly and mountainous areas.
In Sindh, all public and private schools and colleges will be closed from December 22 to 31 for the winter recess. Despite the holidays, supplementary examinations under various education boards will proceed as planned and will not be postponed.
Punjab has also notified winter vacations for all schools from December 22, 2025, to January 10, 2026.
Academic activities in Sindh are scheduled to resume on January 1, while in Punjab, schools will reopen on January 10.
