Realme is preparing to refresh its Neo lineup with the launch of the Neo8, according to a new leak from China. The device is expected to succeed the Realme Neo7, which debuted in December last year, and early details point to notable changes in performance, battery capacity, and build.
Realme Neo8 Tipped to Launch as Neo7 Successor
While Realme has not confirmed a launch timeline, a new rumor suggests the Neo8 is in development and will arrive with a larger battery and a new flagship chipset. The Neo8 is said to feature an 8,000 mAh battery, up from the 7,000 mAh unit found in the Neo7.
The phone is also rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. This would mark a switch in chipset suppliers, as the Neo7 used MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+.
Build and Hardware
According to the leak, the Realme Neo8 will feature a metal frame paired with glass on both the front and back. The device is also said to include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, replacing the optical sensor used in the Neo7.
These changes point to a focus on durability and higher-end hardware components compared with the previous model.
Expected Improvements Over Neo7
In addition to the new chipset and larger battery, the Neo8 is expected to offer improved dust and water resistance. The Neo7 already carries IP68 and IP69 ratings. It remains unclear whether the Neo8 will exceed those standards, potentially adding IP69K certification.
No further specifications, including display, camera details, or charging speeds, have surfaced so far.
