The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) has officially announced its 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Surya Kumar Yadav will once again lead India as captian with Axar Patel serving as Vice-Captain. The main talking points from the announcement is the exclusion of India’s Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 will be played in India and Sri Lanka from 7 February to 8 March 2026. A total of 20 teams will take part, split into four groups, with the top sides moving on to the Super 8s and then the knockouts.
India are in Group A with Pakistan, USA, Namibia, and the Netherlands, and will start their title defence against the USA in Mumbai before the high-profile clash against Pakistan in Colombo on 15 February.
The semi-finals are scheduled for Kolkata/Colombo and Mumbai, with the final on 8 March 2026 in Ahmedabad or Colombo, depending on which teams qualify and existing arrangements for Pakistan fixtures.
