Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said authorities will not allow professional beggars and passengers traveling with incomplete documents to leave the country, Radio Pakistan reported.
He made the remarks during a visit to Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, where he spoke with departing passengers alongside Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry.
Naqvi said the government would take strict action against individuals whose actions damage Pakistan’s image, while stressing that officials would not stop any passenger without a valid reason.
He said protecting Pakistan’s dignity and facilitating genuine travelers remain top priorities. During the visit, Naqvi and Chaudhry inspected immigration counters and reviewed departure procedures to ensure smooth operations at the airport.
A day earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting in Islamabad to review steps against human trafficking, illegal migration, and gaps in immigration controls.
Officials briefed the prime minister on recent Federal Investigation Agency operations, including the arrest of 451 people linked to human trafficking and undocumented travel.
The prime minister also discussed airport inspections carried out by the interior minister following complaints about passenger offloading and directed authorities to ensure that travelers with valid documents do not face unnecessary inconvenience during enforcement actions.
