Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will award laptops to students in Azad Jammu and Kashmir under the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme, as the program continues its nationwide rollout aimed at supporting students through access to technology.
According to the announcement, the laptop distribution ceremony will take place at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, where eligible students will receive devices as part of the federal government’s youth-focused initiative. The scheme seeks to provide students with tools to support their academic work and skill development.
The latest phase follows the expansion of the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme 2025 to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa last week. Speaking at the launch ceremony at the University of Haripur, the prime minister said the initiative goes beyond distributing laptops and forms part of a broader effort to help students learn, innovate, and compete at an international level.
Officials, student representatives, and beneficiaries from earlier phases attended the Haripur event. The government said the scheme has already benefited more than one million students across the country through previous distributions.
The laptop scheme remains one of the flagship initiatives under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program.
