Punjab Traffic Police has extended the operating hours of driving license centers across the province to facilitate citizens seeking driving licenses.
According to a spokesperson for Punjab Traffic Police, citizens must first obtain a learner’s license before applying for a regular driving license. Applicants can acquire a learner’s license by visiting the online portal or their nearest licensing center.
After completing the mandatory 42-day period, applicants can apply for a regular driving license without delay. The spokesperson said that once candidates pass the driving test, they can immediately download their e-driving license, which holds the same legal status as a physical card-based license.
Authorities decided to extend licensing center hours to improve public convenience and reduce overcrowding. Under the new schedule, licensing centers in smaller cities will operate from 8:00 am to 12:00 midnight, while centers in major cities will remain operational 24 hours a day.
Punjab Traffic Police emphasized that holding a valid driving license is essential for safe travel and urged citizens to complete the licensing process in a timely manner.
