Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Director General Kinza Murtaza has assured affectees of the University Town Housing Scheme that their long-standing issues will be resolved on a priority basis, while strict action will be taken against the scheme’s management.
Speaking to affected residents, the RDA DG said that, in line with directives from Secretary Housing Noorul Amin Mengal, matters related to plot allotments, plot positions, possession, development works, and other concerns will be addressed at the earliest.
She directed officials of the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE), Estate Management, and other relevant RDA departments to perform their duties fearlessly, ensure public relief, and continue indiscriminate action against illegal elements.
Kinza Murtaza also informed participants that a formal letter regarding the University Town Housing Scheme has been sent to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for further action.
To ease public hardship, she announced that the blocked access road through the Eighteen Housing Scheme will be reopened soon, providing relief to residents facing mobility issues.
Reaffirming RDA’s stance, the director general said the authority remains committed to protecting citizens’ rights, strictly enforcing urban development laws, and eliminating fraud and corruption across Rawalpindi.
