Online registration for kite and string manufacturers and sellers will also start this week. According to official sources, only registered individuals will be allowed to manufacture and sell kites and string after completing the registration process.
The administration has decided to allow the sale of kites and string through stalls set up at designated locations in the Walled City, while citizens will also be able to obtain manufacturing permits through an online portal.
Sources said permission to manufacture kites and string will be granted strictly under Schedule One.
This year, authorities will allow the manufacture and sale of one-and-a-half tawa gadda and four-and-a-half gath kites.
Kite and string production will be permitted anywhere in the city, but manufacturers must inform the administration in advance about the production site.
Authorities added that all manufacturers and sellers must strictly follow the prescribed standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure that Basant-related activities remain safe and well-organised.
