The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is set to visit Pakistan in the coming days, according to official and media reports.
Reports said the UAE president is expected to arrive in Pakistan on December 26. Meanwhile, preparations are under way for the visit, with Pakistan Air Force fighter jets reportedly conducting aerial drills as part of arrangements for a ceremonial welcome to be accorded to the visiting dignitary in Islamabad.
Ahead of the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening relations with the United Arab Emirates and invited greater UAE investment in key sectors to support Pakistan’s economic growth and stability.
The prime minister expressed these views during a meeting with UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Salem Mohammed Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi at the Prime Minister’s House. According to a statement issued by the PM Office Media Wing, the meeting was also attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch.
During the meeting, the prime minister highlighted the longstanding bilateral ties between Pakistan and the UAE and emphasized cooperation in trade, investment, energy, minerals, information technology, railways, and aviation.
He also acknowledged the UAE’s support for Pakistan, including humanitarian assistance and development projects.
