The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued a reminder to all telecom users to ensure that their SIM cards are registered in their own names, warning that using SIMs registered to someone else is a violation of regulations and could lead to enforcement action.
In a statement, the PTA emphasized that the registered user will be held solely responsible for any misuse of a SIM, including all calls, messages, and data usage made through their number or device.
The authority urged consumers to use their SIMs and telecom connections responsibly and to comply with all relevant rules and regulations.
The PTA also called on the public to play an active role in maintaining the security, stability, and reliability of Pakistan’s telecommunications system by adopting responsible conduct and ensuring their SIMs are properly registered.
Failure to comply, the authority warned, may result in necessary enforcement measures.
