The Meteorological Department has forecast the first winter rain in Karachi.
According to the department, a new spell of westerly winds will begin affecting the upper regions from December 28, while a western weather system may influence the country between Tuesday and Wednesday.
There is a possibility of Karachi receiving its first winter rainfall on December 30, which could lead to an increase in the intensity of cold weather.
Regarding temperatures in the city, the minimum temperature recorded over the past 24 hours was 11°C. During the next 24 hours, the weather is expected to remain dry during the day and cool at night.
The Meteorological Department stated that today’s maximum temperature is likely to remain between 26°C and 28°C. Humidity levels are at 66 percent, and light winds are blowing from the northeast.
Meanwhile, a severe cold wave continues in the upper regions. The lowest temperatures recorded were: Astore at minus 14°C, Skardu (Aurdang/Arang Kel) at minus 7°C, Gilgit and Chitral at minus 4°C, Quetta at minus 3°C, Islamabad and Lahore at 7°C, while Peshawar recorded a minimum temperature of 8°C.
