Shaheen Afridi Suffers an Injury Scare While Bowling in BBL

Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi endured an injury scare during a Big Bash League (BBL) match between Brisbane Heat and Adelaide Strikers in Brisbane, forcing him to leave the field mid-game.

Shaheen appeared uncomfortable while bowling and was seen pointing toward his knee before walking off. He was unable to complete his full quota of overs, finishing with figures of 3 overs for 26 runs, and was subsequently ruled out of the remainder of the match.

Team officials confirmed that Shaheen will be assessed over the next 24 to 48 hours to determine the extent of the injury.

Despite losing their star pacer, the Brisbane Heat held their nerve to bowl out the Adelaide Strikers for 172 and secured a seven-run victory.

The incident has raised concern among fans, particularly with the T20 World Cup approaching in February, as supporters hope the injury proves to be minor and does not sideline the left-arm quick for an extended period.

Meanwhile, the ongoing BBL season continues to attract significant attention due to the presence of several Pakistani cricketers. Babar Azam’s debut BBL campaign has drawn massive crowds and strong fan engagement, even as the star batter searches for consistent form.

Other Pakistan players, including Shadab Khan and Mohammad Rizwan, have also remained in focus due to their performances and on-field impact.
