Ignite – National Technology Fund has launched a nationwide program of Digital Pakistan Cyber Security Hands-On Workshops to strengthen cyber security skills and preparedness across the country.
The workshops aim to address the growing cyber threats facing Pakistan’s expanding digital ecosystem. With increasing internet penetration, the rise of e-commerce, and greater dependence on digital infrastructure, demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals has intensified across both public and private sectors.
Under the program, thousands of participants are expected to receive practical training through interactive, hands-on sessions held in major cities nationwide. The initiative builds on Ignite’s earlier cybersecurity efforts, including national-level hackathons conducted regularly since 2021 to evaluate and strengthen local cybersecurity skills.
Officials say the workshops will prioritize real-world, practical learning rather than theory, helping participants better understand cyber risks and defensive strategies. The program is also designed to improve employability for young professionals, students, and practitioners in the rapidly expanding cybersecurity job market.
Ignite’s leadership has pointed out that Pakistan faces a shortage of trained cybersecurity professionals, while academic institutions have been slow to introduce specialized programs in the field. These hands-on workshops are intended to bridge that gap by offering structured training aligned with current industry requirements.
The initiative also supports the long-term goals of Digital Pakistan by promoting the growth of a strong and engaged cybersecurity community. Through ongoing engagement, mentoring, and skills development, Ignite aims to build a talent pipeline capable of safeguarding national digital assets and critical infrastructure.
