Xiaomi has started rolling out a new software update for the Xiaomi 17 Ultra series, including the Leica edition, shortly after the devices went on sale. The update, identified as HyperOS 3.0.7.0.WPACNXM, introduces a mix of system refinements, visual changes, camera upgrades, and expanded cross-platform features.
Performance and System Improvements
The update includes under-the-hood optimizations aimed at improving overall responsiveness while lowering power consumption. Xiaomi says it has adjusted compiler instructions and memory recycling behavior, resulting in smoother performance and more efficient graphics rendering.
More than 100 system animations have been refined to deliver smoother transitions across the interface.
Interface and Visual Changes
HyperOS 3.0.7.0 brings noticeable visual updates across the system. Xiaomi has redesigned desktop icons, tightened grid spacing, and simplified the status bar. A new centered lock screen clock is also included.
The update introduces an AI-powered dynamic wallpaper feature that animates static images, along with a unified editor that allows users to customize both the lock screen and home screen from one place.
Multitasking and App Enhancements
Xiaomi has expanded Super Island into a more multitasking-focused hub, adding floating windows and draggable real-time notifications. Gallery widgets now support pinned albums and improved search functionality.
The Calendar app receives a refreshed layout and a new horoscope tab. The Recorder app adds structured summaries and dialect recognition support.
Camera and Editing Upgrades
Camera features see significant updates with this release. Xiaomi has added a new 200MP shooting mode that supports continuous zoom between 3.2x and 4.3x. The update also improves snapshot speed, portrait clarity, and AI shooting guidance.
For the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica edition, the update adds dedicated controls for the mechanical zoom ring. Editing tools have been expanded with audio mixers, glare removal through Magic Eraser, and AI-based video creation that can automatically generate music and subtitles.
Apple Ecosystem Integration
One of the most notable additions is deeper integration with Apple devices. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra now supports notification syncing with iPhones, file sharing via NFC, and app mirroring and hotspot tethering with iPads and Macs.
Users can also unlock their Xiaomi 17 Ultra using Touch ID or Face ID on compatible Apple devices.
Xiaomi has not detailed whether these features will expand to other models, but the update is now rolling out to the Xiaomi 17 Ultra lineup in China.
