WhatsApp has rolled out a set of new cosmetics to mark the start of the New Year 2026, introducing festive stickers, animated video call effects, and themed reactions across the app.
As part of the new update, there is a new 2026 sticker pack featuring party-themed designs that users can send to friends and family. In addition, animated stickers are now supported in Status updates, giving users more visual options when sharing updates.
The app has also introduced a special 2026 layout for Status posts, allowing users to give their New Year updates a themed look.
For video calls, WhatsApp now offers animated overlay effects such as fireworks, stars, and confetti, which appear during calls to add a celebratory touch.
Users will also notice special animated reactions when responding to messages with the confetti emoji, adding another seasonal detail to conversations.
These features are part of WhatsApp’s New Year update and are now available to users as the app ushers in 2026.
