Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said on Thursday that Pakistan and India exchanged lists of their nuclear installations under a bilateral agreement that bars attacks on each other’s nuclear facilities.
Speaking at a weekly media briefing in Islamabad, Andrabi said both sides shared the lists in line with the Agreement on the Prohibition of Attacks against Nuclear Installations and Facilities, which the two countries signed on December 31, 1988.
He said Pakistan formally handed over its list of nuclear installations and facilities to a representative of the Indian High Commission at the Foreign Office on Thursday. Andrabi added that the Indian government was also sharing its list of nuclear installations with Pakistan’s High Commission in New Delhi.
The spokesperson said both countries also exchanged lists of prisoners held in each other’s custody through diplomatic channels.
Commenting on regional developments, Andrabi expressed concern over the situation in Yemen. He said Islamabad stressed that the Yemen crisis should be resolved through dialogue and diplomatic means and reaffirmed Pakistan’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia.
