Samsung Display has unveiled a new 77-inch QD-OLED TV panel capable of reaching up to an impressive 4,500 nits of peak brightness. The panel was revealed ahead of CES 2026, where the company is presenting it as the world’s brightest self-emissive display.
Samsung Display said the QD-OLED panel achieves its high brightness by combining the peak luminance of each red, green, and blue component. Unlike OLED panels that rely on white subpixels, this method is designed to improve color purity and deliver higher perceptual brightness.
The new QD-OLED panel also supports AI-based image optimization. According to Samsung Display, TVs using the panel will be able to automatically adjust picture quality based on content and viewing environment.
The company said it plans to use this next-generation QD-OLED panel in its high-end OLED TV lineup launching in 2026.
At CES 2026, Samsung Display will also showcase several AI-powered OLED concept products. These include the AI OLED Bot, a small robot equipped with a 13.4-inch OLED display designed to function as a teaching assistant.
Other concepts on display include the AI OLED Turntable and AI OLED Cassette. Both are speaker systems featuring circular OLED panels that recommend music and display visual content in real time.
Samsung Display has set up a dedicated durability zone at the exhibition to highlight the resilience of its OLED technology. In one demonstration, a robotic arm repeatedly throws basketballs at 18 foldable OLED panels mounted on a board, with the displays remaining functional after multiple impacts.
Another test involves dropping steel balls onto foldable OLED panels to compare their durability with other display technologies.
In the automotive segment, Samsung Display is presenting new cockpit display concepts. These include an 18.1-inch flexible L-shaped center display, a hidden passenger screen, and OLED tail lamps capable of displaying live road alerts to vehicles behind.
The company is also showcasing its RGB OLEDoS microdisplay, which offers 5,000 pixels per inch in a 1.4-inch panel. Samsung Display has integrated the microdisplay into a headset demonstration to highlight its potential use in future extended reality devices.
Samsung Display will present these technologies during CES 2026, which runs from January 6 to January 9 in Las Vegas.
