The Realme 16 Pro+ marks the brand’s first major smartphone launch of 2026 and places a strong emphasis on mobile photography. The device introduces Realme’s new LumaColor Image processing technology, which is designed to improve skin tone rendering, color accuracy, and lighting realism in everyday shooting conditions.
Design and Display
The Realme 16 Pro+ follows the company’s new Urban Wild Design philosophy and was created in collaboration with Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa. The phone features a bio-based organic silicone rear panel made from plant-derived straw material, giving it a distinct texture and finish.
On the front, the device sports a 6.8-inch curved AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The screen houses a 16MP front-facing camera and an optical in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone is available in Master Gold, Master Grey, and Camellia Pink, with the pink variant exclusive to India.
Internals and Software
Powering the Realme 16 Pro+ is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. The phone is available with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, paired with either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.
On the software side, the device runs realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16. Realme has committed to providing three Android OS upgrades and four years of security updates for the handset.
Cameras
The Realme 16 Pro+ is built around a 200MP primary camera using Samsung’s HP5 sensor with a 1/1.56-inch sensor size and an f/1.8 aperture. The main camera supports full-pixel auto zoom with 1x and 2x lossless zoom.
LumaColor Image processing introduces 21 customized color tones, including five portrait styles labeled Lively, Vintage, Fresh, Neon, and Vivid. Additional imaging features include HyperRAW, InstantSnap, and Anti-Distortion algorithms aimed at improving detail, stabilizing dynamic shots, and reducing edge distortion.
For zoom photography, the phone includes a 50MP periscope telephoto camera based on Samsung’s JN5 sensor. It offers 3.5x optical zoom and up to 120x Super Zoom. An 8MP ultrawide camera completes the rear camera setup.
The device supports 4K HDR video recording at 1x, 2x, 3.5x, and 7x focal lengths, along with dual-focal 4K 60fps video at 1x and 3.5x.
Battery and Pricing
The Realme 16 Pro+ packs a 7,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired fast charging. It also carries an IP69 rating for water and dust resistance.
Pricing in India starts at $443 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model. The 8GB and 256GB variant is priced at $465, while the 12GB and 256GB version costs $498. Pre-orders are currently live on Realme India, with shipments scheduled to begin on January 8.
