The Punjab Food Authority carried out enforcement raids across Rawalpindi on Tuesday, sealing four food outlets and seizing large quantities of adulterated and substandard flour products.
Acting on the chief minister’s directives, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Food Salma Butt accompanied PFA teams during inspections in Ratta Amral, Ganjmandi, and along Jamia Masjid Road. The teams confiscated 3,700 kilograms of adulterated besan, 1,000 kilograms of wheat flour, and 980 kilograms of substandard fine flour from food points and production units.
A PFA spokesperson said the authority registered FIRs against two outlets involved in adulteration. Inspectors also found severe hygiene violations, including the presence of live and dead rats at some locations. The authority imposed a fine of Rs. 200,000 and immediately sealed four premises due to poor sanitation, adulteration, and substandard products.
Salma Butt said the provincial government would not tolerate actions that endanger public health. She stated that adulteration violates the law and puts lives at risk, and authorities will respond with strict enforcement.
She added that the chief minister has issued clear instructions to ensure food quality across the province without exception. The PFA will take firm legal action against anyone producing or selling adulterated or substandard food, regardless of influence.
Salma Butt also urged citizens to report violations through the PFA helpline at 1223.

IT IS A DYING BUSINESS AND THE FELLOW WHO ARE DOING THIS HEINOUS CRIMES DESERVED FOR THE CAPITAL PUNISHMENT BUT IN OUR COURT OF LAW AND WITH REFERENCE TO THE EXISTING PROCEEDINGS, THE CRIMINALS ARE JUST FINED WITH 50000/100000 OR SOMEHOW MORE BUT THE NATURE OF THE CRIMES IS MORE HORRIBLE THAN THAT OF KILLING MILLIONS.
