TCL NxtPaper 70 Pro Brings Paper-Like Reading and Writing to Smartphones

TCL has expanded its smartphone lineup at CES 2026 with the introduction of the NxtPaper 70 Pro. The device builds on TCL’s paper-like display technology and introduces a dedicated NxtPaper key for quick switching between different screen modes. The phone also debuts the latest NxtPaper 4.0 display technology.

This means you can have both a paper-like reading experience and a fast and snappy regular smartphone screen with a click of a single button.

Design and Display

The TCL NxtPaper 70 Pro features a 6.9-inch NxtPaper 4.0 display with Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 900 nits. The panel is designed for extended viewing comfort and includes seven eye-care technologies. These features include natural light mode, zero flicker operation, blue light purification, anti-glare viewing, and additional eye-protection enhancements.

A dedicated NxtPaper key is built into the device, allowing users to switch easily between Color Paper, Ink Paper, and Max Ink display modes. The phone also supports the T-Pen stylus, which enables AI-powered handwriting input, off-screen notes, and AI-generated notebook covers. The TCL NxtPaper 70 Pro is available in two color options: Nebula Gold and Stellar Blue.

Internals and Software

The MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset powers the NxtPaper 70 Pro. It is available with up to 8GB of RAM and offers internal storage options of up to 512GB. Storage can be expanded further through a microSD card slot.

The phone runs Android 16 out of the box. Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual SIM support, GPS, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, Wi-Fi connectivity, and dual stereo speakers. The device also carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Cameras

On the rear, the TCL NxtPaper 70 Pro is equipped with a 50MP primary camera that includes optical image stabilization, along with an additional 8MP camera. The rear camera setup supports 4K video recording at 30 frames per second.

For selfies and video calls, the phone features a 32MP front-facing camera.

Battery and Pricing

The handset packs a 5,200 mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. TCL claims that when using the Max Ink display mode, the phone can achieve up to 26 days of standby time. Pricing starts at $397 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, while the 8GB RAM and 512GB model is priced at $455.
