Customs enforcement authorities have seized non-duty-paid vehicles worth Rs. 158 million from a showroom in Quetta as part of an ongoing crackdown on smuggling and illicit trade.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) conducted an intelligence-based operation at a showroom on Saryab Road, Quetta, where officials confiscated five smuggled vehicles.
The seized vehicles include a Toyota Revo 2020, three Toyota Land Cruisers and a Honda Civic Hybrid 2007, according to an FBR statement issued on Thursday.
All the vehicles were non-customs paid, meaning they were brought into the country illegally without paying the required import duties and taxes.
The FBR spokesperson said the operation reflects the government’s commitment to curbing smuggling and protecting the national economy.
The revenue authority has intensified its crackdown on non customs paid vehicles across the country in recent months. Such vehicles not only result in significant revenue losses for the national exchequer but also undermine legitimate businesses in the automobile sector.
The FBR reiterated its resolve to eliminate corrupt practices and illicit trade that harm Pakistan’s economy.
Customs officials have been conducting similar raids in major cities to recover smuggled vehicles and other non-duty-paid goods as part of a nationwide enforcement campaign.
