Poco has expanded its M series lineup with the launch of the Poco M8 5G and Poco M8 Pro 5G. Both smartphones use Snapdragon processors and run the latest Android 15-based HyperOS 2, while targeting different performance and pricing segments.
The Poco M8 5G features a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel supports up to 3,200 nits of peak brightness, 12-bit color depth, and 3,840Hz PWM dimming for reduced eye strain. The Poco M8 5G is available in Black, Green, and Silver. Additional features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, IP66 dust and water resistance, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an infrared sensor, expandable storage, Wi Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and 5G support.
The Poco M8 Pro 5G steps up with a larger 6.83-inch AMOLED display offering a sharper 1.5K resolution. It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 3,200 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and 3,840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The Poco M8 Pro 5G is also offered in Black, Green, and Silver. The phone also includes an in-display fingerprint scanner, an IP68 rating, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and a full set of modern connectivity options.
Inside, the Poco M8 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. It is paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The phone runs Android 15-based HyperOS 2 and includes AI tools such as Google Gemini and Circle to Search.
The Poco M8 Pro 5G uses the more powerful Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor and includes Poco’s IceLoop cooling system to manage heat. Like the standard model, it runs Android 15-based HyperOS 2. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, and NFC on the Pro variant.
For photography, the Poco M8 5G comes with a 50MP Light Fusion 400 main camera along with a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, it offers a 20MP selfie camera. The device is largely similar to the Redmi Note 15 5G, although that model includes a higher resolution main camera and an ultrawide lens.
The Poco M8 Pro 5G features a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP Light Fusion 800 primary sensor with optical image stabilization and an 8MP ultrawide camera. Selfies and video calls are handled by a 32MP front camera. This model closely resembles the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ but does not include the 200MP main sensor found on that phone.
The Poco M8 5G is equipped with a 5,520mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging. The Poco M8 Pro 5G packs a larger 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery. It supports 100W wired fast charging as well as up to 22.5W reverse wired charging.
The 8GB RAM with 256GB storage variant is priced at $229, while the 8GB with 512GB version costs $279. Pricing for the Poco M8 Pro 5G starts at $299 for the 8GB with 256GB model and goes up to $359 for the 12GB with 512GB option.
