Solar Adoption Rampant in Pakistan Despite Big Drop in a Month

Net metering’s share in total generation rose by 127 basis points on a year-on-year (YoY) basis in November 2025, reflecting increased solar adoption and lower grid dependence.

Compared to October, solar net metering units declined by 10.5 percent in November 2025.

According to Arif Habib Limited (AHL), overall power generation was stable at 0.2 percent YoY in November 2025. The data doesn’t factor in consumers of K-Electric.

On a month-on-month (MoM) basis, net metering units decreased by 10.5 percent across Pakistan, data showed.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) expects power demand to grow by 1.0 percent YoY during the calendar year (CY) 2026.
