Students enrolled under the Maryam Nawaz Honhaar Scholarship program are facing serious difficulties due to delays in the release of scholarship installments, putting their academic future at risk.
With the deadline for fee submission approaching, the scholarship installment has yet to be disbursed. Universities have started issuing warnings to students over non-payment of fees.
Around 85,000 students are benefiting from the scholarship across 100 higher education institutions in Punjab, but the delay has left thousands worried.
It has been revealed that universities have not submitted fee invoices, which is causing the delay.
Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) Chairman stated that only 25 out of 100 institutions have sent their invoices, adding that scholarships cannot be released until the invoices are received.
Educational institutions have been given a one-week deadline to submit invoices. Dr Iqrar warned that scholarships would be cancelled if invoices are not received within a week.
The Chairman of the Punjab Higher Education Commission has issued a strict warning to universities in this regard.
