Pakistanis Traveling to UAE to Get Major Relief

Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates will sign a formal Pre-Immigration Clearance agreement that will allow Pakistani passengers traveling to the UAE to complete immigration procedures before departure, the interior ministry said on Monday.

The Pakistan Interior Ministry issued the statement after Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met a UAE delegation led by Ahmed Abdullah Bin Lahej Al Falasi. Both sides discussed bilateral cooperation and measures to simplify immigration for travelers.

The ministry said Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates agreed to sign the pact and launch the system on a pilot basis, with Karachi selected as the first location.

Under the new arrangement, Pakistani authorities will complete immigration and related clearances for UAE-bound passengers before departure. After arrival, travelers will exit UAE airports without undergoing standard immigration checks, similar to domestic passengers.

Naqvi said the system will reduce waiting times, simplify travel, and improve the overall passenger experience. The UAE delegation welcomed the initiative and expressed full cooperation.

The ministry did not announce a signing date but said both sides directed relevant authorities to continue coordination to finalize the administrative and technical framework of the pilot project. Officials plan to expand the system to additional locations after successful implementation.
