The Sindh School Education and Literacy Department has announced that all public and private educational institutions across the province will remain closed on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
According to an official notification issued on January 13, the closure will be observed on account of Shab-e-Meraj. The notification states that the decision was taken in pursuance of the resolution approved by the Sub-Committee of the Steering Committee on Education during its meeting held on November 28, 2024.
The order applies to all public and private educational institutions operating under the administrative control of the School Education and Literacy Department, Government of Sindh.
The department has directed all concerned authorities to ensure strict compliance with the notification. Copies of the order have been forwarded to relevant government offices, district education authorities, regulatory bodies, and information departments for implementation and circulation.
