vivo has expanded its Y500 lineup in China with the launch of the vivo Y500i. The new model joins the Y500 and Y500 Pro, which were introduced in the market last year, and focuses on long battery life paired with updated styling.
This long battery life comes thanks to the phone’s massive silicon-carbon-powered 7,500 mAh battery, which should easily be able to last 2 days of use, and maybe even more.
The vivo Y500i features a refreshed design and measures 8.49mm in thickness while weighing 219 grams. It is offered in Galaxy Silver, Phoenix Gold, and Obsidian Black color options.
On the front, the phone is equipped with a 6.75-inch LCD. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and HD+ resolution, along with up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness. A hole-punch cutout houses the front camera.
The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. It is available with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage, offering multiple memory and storage configurations for different user needs.
Connectivity and additional features include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, an infrared sensor, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, along with SGS Gold Label 5-star certification for durability.
For photography, the vivo Y500i uses a single rear camera setup. It includes a 50MP sensor with autofocus and an f/1.8 aperture. On the front, the phone features a 5MP camera for selfies and video calls.
One of the key highlights of the vivo Y500i is its large 7,200 mAh lithium-ion battery. The device supports 44W fast charging, targeting users who prioritize extended battery life.
The vivo Y500i is currently available for purchase in China. Pricing starts at $215 for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage variant. The 8GB/256GB version is priced at $255, while the 8GB/512GB model costs $285.
Higher-end options include the 12GB/256GB variant at $285 and the 12GB/512GB version at $315.
