The upcoming OnePlus 15T is expected to follow the same launch schedule as its predecessor, according to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station. The OnePlus 13T was unveiled in April last year, and the new model is reportedly set for a similar April debut in China. At this stage, there is no confirmation on whether the phone will be released outside China or which international markets could receive it.
Battery Capacity Set for a Major Jump
One of the most notable upgrades tipped for the OnePlus 15T is a significantly larger battery. The device is said to feature a 7,000mAh battery, with OnePlus reportedly attempting to push capacity as high as 7,500mAh. This could mirror the previous China and India split seen with the OnePlus 13T and the OnePlus 13s, which launched in India with a smaller 5,850mAh battery compared to the 6,260mAh cell in the Chinese model.
Display and Biometric Changes
The OnePlus 15T is expected to come with a flat 6.3-inch LTPS OLED display featuring a 1.5K resolution. Unlike the 13T’s 120Hz LTPO panel, the new model is tipped to offer a higher 165Hz refresh rate. Another hardware change includes an upgrade to an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
Performance and Build Details
Powering the device is expected to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, with OnePlus reportedly opting for the full Elite variant rather than a non-Elite version. The phone is also said to carry an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
OnePlus is also expected to offer a magnetic snap-on case. Similar to the 13T and 13s, this magnetic system is designed for accessories rather than wireless charging, which remains absent.
Camera Setup Likely Unchanged
Camera upgrades appear limited. The telephoto camera is said to retain the same 50MP Samsung JN5 sensor used in the previous model. No specifications have surfaced for the main camera, and there is no indication that a third rear camera will be added.
Market Availability Still Unclear
It remains uncertain whether the OnePlus 15T, or a regional variant of it, will see wider global availability compared to the previous compact models. If it does expand beyond China, it is expected to compete directly with upcoming devices such as the Xiaomi 17 Pro, vivo X300, and Oppo Find X9s. The previously rumored iQOO 15 mini may no longer be part of this segment.
