Customs Enforcement, Islamabad, in an intelligence-based operation, seized smuggled non-custom-paid (NCP) vehicles, heavy bikes and electronic goods worth Rs. 412.2 million, according to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
The action reflects FBR’s sustained drive against smuggling and Illicit Trade, the regulator said while posting the development on X.
During the operation, Customs recovered one Rolls-Royce luxury car, 19 Suzuki and Kawasaki heavy bikes, and a large quantity of non-duty-paid electronic items, including laptops, brought into Pakistan in violation of customs laws.
All seized goods have been shifted to the Customs warehouse and confiscated under the Customs Act, 1969. Investigations are underway to dismantle the smuggling network.
FBR concluded that it remains committed to curbing smuggling and protecting national revenue.

Smuggling is not possible without the connivance of black sheep within the government. While purchasing foreign-made goods, responsible citizens should question sellers about the legality of those goods. Secondly, countries from which these goods originate should be required to share export data with our government. These steps may help in curbing illegal trade.
