Pakistan’s star opening batsman, Sahibzada Farhan, has broken into the top five in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) T20I Batters Rankings.
Sahibzada Farhan is the only Pakistani batter in the top 20 T20I batters in the world, but has now moved up one place to fifth in the latest rankings.
His rise was one of the key positives for the side after the Sri Lanka T20I series ended in a 1-1 draw. He scored a breathtaking half-century in the first T20I of the series in Dambulla.
Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha also enjoyed a notable jump in the rankings. The all-rounder climbed 13 places to reach 41st with 534 rating points after delivering strong performances with the bat.
However, senior batter Babar Azam slipped three spots to 32nd with 562 points. Fellow opener Saim Ayub held on to his 37th position, though he lost his No.1 spot in the T20I all-rounders rankings, which is now occupied by Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza.
Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, who has not featured in Pakistan’s T20I setup since December 2024, dropped three places to 59th.
Other Pakistani batters also saw movement in the rankings. Fakhar Zaman slipped two positions to 66th with 469 points, while middle-order batter Hasan Nawaz fell three spots to 83rd. Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris currently sits at 92nd with 390 points.
At the top of the global rankings, India’s Abhishek Sharma continues to lead the T20I batting chart. England’s Phil Salt remains second, followed by India’s Tilak Varma in third place.
